Treating for ants
Ants in your lawn: ants are a common problem found in lawns. If you have sandy soil, the problem is more prevalent. Treatment for ants is done with a water activated granular insecticide. The insect control product we use controls a large variety of surface insects such as ants. It’s a one-time knock down with residual activity of about 3 to 4 weeks. While total elimination of any turf insect is impossible, keeping them in check is not. When you have excess ant hills, or ants getting into your home or other dwellings, a treatment is recommended.
Sandy soils in many cases are better to spray liquid insect control because its instant contact rather than waiting for an activated granular to work in sand which doesn’t hold onto the product being released as well.
Carpenter ants are more difficult to control. Regardless of what type of ant, and weather, it’s in your house, a tree, the lawn, putting a bait out first is the best approach for success. Baits can be granular or gel. The ants will take the bait back to the queen, which is necessary to eliminate the colony. After a few days to approximately a week, you can spray along edges inside and outside with a clear odorless insect control commonly found in stores. This will also take care of the remaining ants. Just spraying in most cases will not solve the problem.
Mosquito control
You certainly don’t want mosquitos laying eggs on your property if you can avoid it. The Wisconsin State Department of Health has stated that climate change has warmed the local area. As a result, the mosquito breeding season is now longer than it was in the past. Mosquitos are more than just pests who make you itchy: their bites can also carry serious illnesses like West Nile virus and chikungunya. If you have a family and pets to take care of, our mosquito control program will help make sure they stay safe.
Other pests
A whole new wave of bugs arrives with the new plant growth in spring. Mosquitos and ants are among the most bothersome, but they’re not the only bugs looking to move into your garden. Starting at just $95, our insect control program will remove spiders, aphids, fleas, and other annoying bugs that like to turn your garden into a salad bar.
Spraying isn’t the only thing you can do to keep bugs under control. Removing dead, damaged, and infested trees will take away their favorite places to build nests. Turf & Tree Worx tree services are also an important part of the fight against bugs.
Local bug control experts
Spraying early in the season is an effective way to wipe out any new infestations before they have a chance to increase their numbers. We’ll kill the bugs you have, and since every pesticide application has 3-4 weeks of residual effectiveness, any new bugs looking to move in will have to keep moving.
