How to become a certified arborist
In order to become a certified arborist, you must complete an accredited arboriculture program, have a minimum of three years of full-time, practical experience in the field, and pass the ISA Certified Arborist exam. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions that cover topics such as plant identification, tree biology, diagnosis and treatment, tree selection, pruning, and safety. Additionally, applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to be eligible to take the exam.
